What makes me eligible & who can attend?

The Clovis Online School is open to students in Grades K-12 who meet the following criteria:

  • To be eligible to register for kindergarten for the next school year, a child must reach five (5) years of age on or before September 1 of the school year in which they wish to start.  
  • To be eligible for the elementary program you must be presently in or entering into grades 1-6
  • Presently in or entering into Junior High school grades 7-8
  • Presently in or entering into High School, grades 9 through 12
  • Live in one of the following counties: Fresno, Inyo, Kings, Madera, Merced, Mono, Monterey, San Benito, or Tulare
  • Are 18 years of age or younger (or 19 with continuous enrollment in a CA school)

 

I don't live in Clovis. Can I enroll?

Yes, any student who resides in one of the following counties may attend:
  • Fresno
  • Inyo
  • Kings
  • Madera
  • Merced
  • Mono
  • Monterey
  • San Benito
  • Tulare

 

What grades do you serve?

The Clovis Online School serves students Grades K through 12.
 

How do I enroll?

Our enrollment process is simple. Click on the "Enroll" link and complete the online enrollment form. The enrollment section describes which documents will be needed for enrollment and gives you the process to actually begin taking classes.
 

What courses are offered?

We have a full complement of courses that meet all requirements to successfully meet promotion standards for our Elementary Program (K-6) and Grades 7 and 8.  We also have courses in all subject areas needed to graduate from high school. Courses in English, Math, Science,  Social Studies, World Language, and electives are available.  Many courses at the high school level are NCAA and UC A-G approved . We also have honors courses and  Advanced Placement (AP) Courses. 
 

Why would a student want to attend?

To be a part of the award-winning Clovis Unified School District and WASC accredited Clovis Online (WASC is for grades 9-12) featuring an online-based, independent study format. We have a highly qualified full-time staff to help you succeed in Grades 7K-12.  COS has free enrollment and no tuition costs featuring a program with interactive curriculum that will make your learning experience fun.
 

What are the advantages?

Clovis Online School offers the best of online learning where students can access their courses anytime of the day or night* and from any location with internet access. This is a free, full-time, high school diploma-granting school with the ability to have school come to you.

* - The Elementary Program may require logging in at scheduled times to receive direct instruction from a Clovis Online Teacher.
 

Do students attend full time?

Yes, Clovis Online School is a full-time program with students assigned a full schedule of courses.  We are unable to offer part-time enrollment for those needing or wanting only one or two courses.
